Yokaishi no Tsuki

Alright. So, this is the series title for a Visual novel I am currently developing (with other friends in a SLOW manner). Originally the story was about a guy who basically saved Japan by some curse. Well now it's more elaborate so to speak. first of all it takes place in Feudal Japan with Samurais and Shinobi/Kunochi. The main character, Aoi (Kyoshi) Tsuki is a Ronin Samurai (masterless samurai) who started out running away from his clan to avoid marriage (and possibly a civil war with in his clan) He ends up (depending on what you choose) either fighting one side of a major "last" battle (Google: battle of Sekigahara) or fighting on the other. one side loses inevitably no matter which path he takes. I'm not really elaborating about each character (last i count there were 2 main characters, 2 supporting characters, and about 50 side characters.. yeah that much)
a small fraction of them are historical figures except well some or most of them have personality (that might be disrespectful if you look at it) for example, a famous warlord named Date Masumune (Date being his last name) who is I guess that kind of redneck father who would pull out his shotgun if he sees you touching his daughter (except for Masumune's case his younger sister) and Mori Ranmaru who is a cross dressing girly boy (my friend who helps develop the story refers them as "Bishi" I think she's misusing the term)
I do read a lot of "Things to avoid when making a story/character/etc" and few things I notice about my story that I guess you can say is a no-no.
For one thing, the main character is a Demi-god (it's not mentioned up front and probably won't be mentioned.) it's existence is only there to explain why Aoi (the main character who's a guy) is well, good at being a commander which is also another thing to adress
the main character is I guess "perfect" when it comes to being a tactician (period of the warring states so warlords are prominent) but I guess it ought to compensate for his prejudice over peasants and samurais, his awkward obessions for fuzzy and soft things, his inability to drink alcohol yet acts like those people who think he is a hardcore drinker, etc.
that's it for now, I'll post more things about the story later (lazy)
